Afraid to take a chair. Two.

~Families who were DTC (dossier to China) after us are now beginning to receive their LOA (Letter of Acceptance).
We are about to go for the second garage sale.  The first was phenomenal.  I hope the second can be as well.
I have been reading a book that was recommended by another Christian, Adopting, Blogging Mom (I can't find the entry on her blog where she tells about it).  The first Chapter was about getting rid of an attitude of complaining*,...so.  Um...I'm not... Really. Gonna be able to talk or write much.  Until I figure out how to be thankful...Thanks, Stefanie.
I was blessed last week to read some posts and explore some blogs where people really really reveal the tender places in their lives...the past couple of months have been pretty emotionally loaded if we were not in the middle of the adoption process.  I am almost there.  I nearly can hold tightly in both hands the truth that He is my Daddy.  There is a place at the table for me.  And my whole family.~

CRAZYBELOVED SHARING THE TIPS THAT MAKE ME REAL MOM...

The divas have some favorites that they refer to as examples of  mama love...

Grace Louise Dodson's No-Bake Fudge Cookies
(Mr. S turned up his nose for 18.5 years because the no-bakes were not like his mom's.  It ought to have gotten him in trouble, but he was completely though it pains me to say it right.

4 T Cocoa
2 Cups Sugar
1/2 Cup Shortening
1/2 Cup Milk
1/2 Cup Crunchy Peanut butter
2 Cups Quick Oats

Cook cocoa, sugar, shortening, and milk until bubbling and boil 2 1/2 minutes. Any longer and cookies will be crumbly, any less and cookies will be runny.   Turn off heat but leave on burner.  Add peanutbutter and let melt while mixing.   Add oatmeal and mix well.   Drop by teaspoons on wax paper or pour into buttered pan.  Cool until hard.

But you can't have dessert until you have had dinner...  This just begs for cornbread, and if you have a big family, you may want to double it.

Nacho Potato Soup
1 pkg. AuGratin Potato Mix
1 can corn, drained
1 can Ro-Tel, undrained
2 c. water
2 c. milk
2 c. velveeta, cubed

In a 3 qt. saucepan, combine the contents of the potato package, corn, ro-tel, and water; mix well, bring to a boil.  Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15-18 minutes or until potatoes are tender.  Add milk, cheese and hot pepper sauce (the cheese packet from the potato mix may be incorporated at this time) if desired; cook and stir until cheese is melted.  Yield:6-8 servings.

*That first line then would be an observation rather than a complaint...just for update purposes.

  1. I've got to try the potato soup. I LOVE potatoes, but something is telling me that is not WW approved.

Have you seen Missy's blog, It's Almost Naptime. She is a Christian blogger that talks a lot about adoption. Her family is waiting to adopt from Ethiopia.

  3. I love potatoes too, but they make #1 gag. Always have. Since birth. So they are the one thing I don't make him eat. That and peas. Just 'cause peas make me gag and I'd rather not do that. Thanks for participating in Mom Tip Tuesday. Your the bestes:)
